Modern Warfare II Open Beta

It’s that time of year again! With the release of the Modern Warfare II open beta, Call of Duty hype season is under way. I was able to finally play a few rounds on the Playstation 4. The Xbox version doesn’t start until next weekend, so I’ll see how that one plays on the new console. Since I don’t have a PS5, I had to settle playing on the PS4.

The game seems very similar to Modern Warfare, like the environment, for example. The hit detection seems different from it’s predecessor. The time-to-kill (TTK) took longer than expected. Not as bad as Treyarch’s Black Ops series, but not as good as the Infinity Ward’s iteration of the game, like Modern Warfare 3. The modifications for the weapons are similar to Warzone and the first Modern Warfare (2019). I did like how you can run a UAV and counter UAV on two separate kill streaks. I remember running this combo during the Black Ops days and loved it.

Overall, I am excited about this game and I’m curious to see what kind of tweaks Infinity Ward has in store.

Check out the gameplay below. I played some regular Team Deathmatch in first-person and third-person view.
