Xbox Teases Highly Polished Ninja Gaiden Sequel in Latest Podcast

Make no mistake, nothing beats the original Ninja Gaiden that was released back in 1989 on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). That game was legendary.  We spent so many late nights and many hours trying to beat that frustrating game, but on one Friday evening after school, we finally did it!

With the anticipation of Team Ninja’s fourth installment of the franchise, though, Ninja Gaiden 4 is looking really good and I’m hoping to build on some of that nostalgia from the original back in 1989.

In the latest installment of the Xbox Podcast, Craig Duncan talked about the latest updates in the Ninja Gaiden series and what Team Ninja and Platinum Games have been up to in preparation for the game’s release this fall.

“Just to bring a, you know, super up to date, highly polished, you know, just seeing, just, the pace of combat, the excitement, the boss battle, like, it’s got so much and I think fans are going to be blown away by the game,” Craig Duncan said during the discussion.

Craig also mentioned shadow drop will be making a return, which I loved that feature in Ninja Gaiden II (Xbox 360 version) and in Ninja Gaiden II: Black remastered (Xbox X|S version).

It’s been over ten years since the last Ninja Gaiden game, which was released on the Xbox 360 on March 20, 2012, so it’s been a long time and definitely due for an update.

This will most certainly be a day one purchase for me and I will be grinding it until it’s done! Unlike the good old days, though, my brothers won’t be able to help.

Ninja Gaiden 4 is expected to be released in the fall of 2025 on the Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 5, Steam, and Xbox Game Pass.
