Fired Up Fridays: Chargers Defeat Lions in Hall of Fame Game as Football season is Finally Here!

Chargers Defeat Lions

The wait is finally over!

Football is here and it started last night with the annual NFL Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio.  This matchup featured the San Diego Chargers and the Detroit Lions.  Most of the starters on both teams did not play, which the Detroit Lions are probably rethinking that decision after their beating Thursday night.

There was a little of everything.  A fumble, interceptions, and even a doink at the beginning of the game.  In the end, though, it was all Chargers as they had five turnovers and moved the ball at will, it seemed.

Los Angeles beat Detroit with a 34-7 drubbing as the final score.

Granted, this game means nothing in terms of regular season statistics, but I’m sure the Lions would have liked to at least made this game competitive, as you could tell from Coach Dan Campbell’s reaction at the end of the game.

Regardless, I’m just excited football is finally back and I’m anxious to see how the Carolina Panthers will do since Bryce Young is in his third year.  Last year they finished with an abysmal 5-12 record, but hopefully with some help at WR and offensive line they can get a playoff spot.

The Panthers haven’t seen the post season since 2017, where they lost in the Wild Card game against the New Orleans Saints 26-31.

Nevertheless, football is back and we are just weeks away from the college football season, which starts August 23.

Welcome football. Bring your cheer. Cheer to all the football fans far and near!
