Fired Up Fridays:  Training Camps are in Full Swing and 29 Days Until College Football

NFL Training Camps are Here

We made it!

Football is back and all 32 NFL teams have reported for Training Camps and we are getting closer to opening kickoff of college football.

The Carolina Panthers have started their training camp proceedings as QB Bryce Young prepares for his third season under center and coach Dave Canales hopes to navigate the Panthers back to a competitive NFL team.

Carolina is hoping to improve from their abysmal 5-12 record from last year.  With first round pick Tetairoa McMillan at WR, the Panthers are betting on the former Arizona Wildcat to contribute sooner than later.

We’ll have to see what happens, but it’s definitely good to see a new weapon for QB Bryce Young to throw to.

Hall of Fame Game

With the start of training camps comes the Hall of Fame Game and the legendary NFL Hall of Fame introduction ceremony at Canton, Ohio on July 31 to August 3.

This year’s match up will feature the Detroit Lions and San Diego Chargers.

The Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will feature these legends:
– Eric Allen
– Jared Allen
– Antonio Gates
– Sterling Sharpe (senior)

You can watch the Hall of Fame Game on NBC, July 31, at 8pm EST.

College Football is Less than 30 Days Away

Even though the NFL is the first to see action, college football is just around the corner, which I am MOST excited about!

Now that DJ Lagway is officially the number one quarterback for the Gators, we’ll see if he can continue his success from the 2024 season.

Since his official start after taking over for injured quarterback Graham Mertz, DJ has thrown for 1915 yards, 12 touchdowns, and has a 59.9% completion percentage. The downside, though, Lagway has 9 interceptions.

If Florida can be successful at running the ball by feeding Jadan Baugh, this will open up DJ Lagway to showcase his talent in the pocket.

I’m predicting a strong top 25 ranking throughout the season and maybe the Gators will get lucky to get a spot in the CFP.

It’s Friday! Let’s Get Fired Up!!
