Today is Saturday and that means it’s time for the annual football game between the Navy Midshipmen versus the Army Black Knights. This year’s matchup will be in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the NFL team Philadelphia Eagles.
The Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy belongs to the Air Force, the Falcons beat Army 13-7 earlier this year, so today’s game will be for bragging rights.
This year’s uniforms are very unique as well as the Army will be wearing jerseys that represent World War II’s 1st Armored Division. The Navy Midshipmen will be wearing uniforms honoring NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Association).

Overall, the Navy Midshipmen lead the contest against the Black Knights 62-53-7. Army is looking to add to Navy’s loss column, though, as the Black Knights have the better record this year. Army (5-6) is ranked higher in total offense over Navy (4-7) as well.
On September 26, 1947, the Army Air Forces officially separated from the U.S. Army via direction of the Secretary of Defense. On that day, the United States Air Force was officially born. As a veteran of the Air Force myself, I’ll be rooting for the Army Black Knights in today’s football game.
The game is expected to air on CBS, check local listings, at 3:00pm EST.
Hopefully it will be a great and competitive game, but in the end Army should come away with a win against Navy with a final score of 24-17.
