GatorTim Plays The MW4 beta

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s beta is not bad at all, but honestly, it feels like more of the same—just with a new coat of paint. Although, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s definitely more playable than Black Ops 7.

The game actually reminds me a lot of MW19, which I consider a good thing. The overall feel, movement, and gunplay give me some of those same vibes, and I’m enjoying it so far.

I definitely get the feeling that SBMM is in the game, although there’s really no way to know for sure just from playing a few matches. Some games feel noticeably tougher than others, and the lobbies can change pretty quickly.

At the end of the day, I’m having fun with the beta and it’s a nice change of pace from Treyarch’s iteration of the game. It may not be reinventing Call of Duty, but sometimes you just need to keep things simple.

If Modern Warfare 4 can keep this gameplay feeling familiar while adding enough new content to keep things fresh, I think it could be a pretty fun Call of Duty.

The early access beta runs through August 21 to August 25 and then the open beta starts on August 28 to September 1 on all platforms.
