Fired Up Fridays: NFL Week 2 is here and the College football season starts next Saturday

NFL Pre-Season Week 2

Week 2 of the NFL pre-season starts tonight with the Titans facing the Falcons and the Chiefs against the Seahawks.

For week 1, my team, the Carolina Panthers, made headlines.  Not in a good way, though.  It was all about how Shedeur Sanders put on a show as a rookie at the expense of the Carolina Panther defense.

Carolina did start Bryce Young at the beginning of the game, which he did throw for 58 yards and a touchdown, so that’s promising.  I guess.

As a Panther fan, I’ve grown to approach each new season being cautiously optimistic, but still mentally prepared for the inevitable let down.

Not having a winning season since 2018 sux.

Maybe he’ll prove me wrong, but I still don’t think Young is the answer.  We’ll see.

The Carolina Panthers will play the Houston Texans for week 2.  Check out the full schedule via the screen shot below.

College Football Starts Next Weekend

The wait is almost over!

I know it doesn’t feel like it yet, still hot here in West VA, but it’s almost college football season and I can’t wait!

Saturday, August 23, features a bunch of college football matchups, including Kansas State vs Iowa State in Aviva Stadium, Dublin, Ireland.

Other games include Idaho State vs UNLV and Kansas vs Fresno State.

It’s going to be a packed Saturday to say the least as we welcome college football for the 2025 season.

My Florida Gators don’t play until Saturday, August 30 as they will be at home in The Swamp and will play against the LIU Sharks.

Sadly, though, this will be the last weekend of Gameday with legendary coach Lee Corso.

Time has definitely flown by.

The summer is almost over and the kiddos are gearing up for school, but I don’t care.  It’s college football season and I’m ready!!

One more week until college football!  It’s Friday and it’s time to get fired up!!
