Week 4 of college football is upon us and I need to desperately get back on track with my picks. I went one-for-five last week, which sux! Overall, I’m still ahead (10-5), but I can’t take anymore hits like I did in Week 3. Hard to believe it’s week 4 already and one month of college football is almost in the books, crazy!!
That said, let’s get to the picks:
Florida vs Tennessee (Going with Florida here.)
Virginia Tech vs Richmond (Virginia Tech should be an easy win over Richmond.)
South Carolina vs Kentucky (Carolina is playing at Williams-Brice; looking to redeem themselves here, I’m taking the Gamecocks.)
UNC vs Georgia Tech (The Tarheels win this, hopefully, so my wife can be happy!)
Arkansas vs Texas A&M (Going with the upset on this one. I think Arkansas wins this and gives the Aggies their first loss.)
After a close loss to Alabama, the Florida Gators face the Tennessee Volunteers this Saturday night in The Swamp with asperations to redeem themselves. Nearly beating Alabama last week and the simple fact that the Gators have not lost to Tennessee at home since 2003 are reasons that this game should be in the win column. These are also the reasons why I smell a potential upset.
As long as Florida can run the ball, they ran against Alabama for 245 yards last Saturday, they should be ok. It would be nice to see Anthony “AR-15” Richardson in the mix as well. My concern is the sloppy game play we saw against Alabama. Emory Jones needs to be more accurate in his throws and more importantly, don’t throw any interceptions. The wide receivers didn’t help him much as there were many dropped passes in the game as well.
If the Florida Gators can stay focused and utilize the weapons they have and keep from making ill-advised throws, they should keep their winning streak in tact against the Volunteers.

A few days ago, the SEC released their schedule for the 2022 college football season. Not even into week 4, yet we are already talking about next year. In the first week, Florida plays Utah. The last time Florida played the Utes was in 1977, I remember because my favorite show The Six Million Dollar Man was on. It was on November 19, 1977 and the Gators played at home. Florida won the only matchup 38-29.

You can view the rest of the schedule via the SEC website here.
