Boston’s Home Win Streak Continues as The Bruins Beat Colorado 5-1

Boston’s winning streak continued as they dominated the visiting Colorado Avalanche at the Garden last night and improved their record to 14-0 at home.  David Pastrnak and Trent Frederic scored two goals a piece in the Saturday evening matchup.

Goalie Linus Ullmark was able to hold off the Avalanche up until the third period where Colorado’s Andrew Cogliano scored the only goal, preventing Ullmark’s shutout.  Ullmark was impenetrable up until that point as he blocked 25 shots on goal.

The final goal came from Jake DeBrusk, which was his 100th career NHL goal late in the third period sealing the win for the Boston Bruins.

“I do think that we have a killer instinct in us that has grown throughout the year.  This team, you can tell a lot of guys have won a lot in this league. They know how to win.”

– Bruins coach Jim Montgomery

I would definitely agree with that sentiment.  The Boston Bruins are ranked #1 with 4 goals per game and #12 in shots on goal with 794, so the Bruins are definitely playing more aggressive this season compared to last.

On Deck:  The Bruins will face off against their old coach as Boston will play Bruce Cassidy and the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday evening.  This one should be interesting!
