Fired Up Fridays:  Panthers Look Rough Against the Patriots and Countdown to College Football Has Begun

NFL Preseason Kicks Off

The NFL preseason is underway with the Panthers facing off against the New England Patriots last night kicking off the new NFL year.

Going to be honest with you, it’s REALLY hard to be a Panthers fan.  I’ve been a supporter since I found out about them in ’93 and it seems like I’ve been let down more times than not.  Remember the 2001 season where they went 1-15?  I do and it was painful, but it’s par for the course with this team, it seems.

Case in point, the Panthers did not look good against New England.  They only attained a paltry 151 total yards, that’s it!

QB Jack Plummer was 11 for 21 with 86 yards and QB Jake Luton was 7 for 9 with 38 yards.  Both with NO touchdowns.

Rushing was no better as the Panthers managed to get 62 total yards.

Did I say it was bad?

The Panthers were able to get on the scoreboard at least with a field goal, but the Patriots walked away with a 17-3 win in Foxboro.

The Panthers will face the Jets in their home preseason opener.  Hopefully, they will do better than last year as they got shut out by New York 27-0.  We’ll see.

Countdown to College Football Has Begun

Now on to college football where my Florida Gators will hopefully have a better year than in 2023. It’s only 22 days until the Gators play the Miami Hurricanes in The Swamp to kick off their season and only 15 days until week 1.

My favorite time of the year is almost here!  Fall, family, and football!  Nothing better!

It’s Friday!  Time to get fired up!
