Fired Up Fridays:  Bruins Fall to the Rangers and College Football Picks Week 5

Rangers Beat Bruins 5-2

The Boston Bruins played the New York Rangers last night at Madison Square Garden in New York and it was not good.  I get it.  It’s an exhibition, but there are only four games left in the preseason and the Bruins STILL have not signed Jeremy Swayman.

The goalie situation needs to be addressed because Bussi did not do well and neither did DiPietro, as both goalies have losses.  Korpisalo managed to protect a 4-2 win against the Caps on Tuesday, September 24, so that’s a bright spot at least.

New York out shot Boston as well.  The Bruins only had 24 shots on goal compared the Rangers 33.  New York dominated Boston in takeaways as well with eight turnovers compared to the Bs four.

Still time left before the season opener against Florida on Tuesday, October 8 to make adjustments, but one thing is for certain, Swayman needs to be signed before the games start to count.

CFB Picks Week 5

My picks are taking a beating, literally.  So far in the season I am 14-26, so I’m hoping for a little bit of luck as I make my selections for this week.  Florida is on a bye, so at least I don’t have to worry about that loss.

For week five I’m going with:

              Kansas State Wildcats

              BYU Cougars

              Notre Dame Fighting Irish

              Texas A&M Aggies

              Liberty Flames

              UNLV Rebels

              Oklahoma Sooners

              North Carolina Tar Heels

              Georgia Bulldogs

              Boise State Broncos

Friday is finally here!  Let’s get fired up!!
