Fired Up Fridays:  UNC Upset in First Round, Bruins Shoot Down the Jets

UNC Blows 19 Point Lead

Got to say, I didn’t see that one coming.  I think a lot of people didn’t.  In fact, a majority of us picked UNC to win, but they didn’t.  The Tarheels had a big nineteen-point lead, yet they still lost.

VCU Rams came all the way back and sent North Carolina home to watch the rest of the tournament on the couch at home.

VCU’s charge in OT became the largest comeback in NCAA March Madness history during the first round.  A commendable record for the Rams, but something the Tarheels would love to forget.

Other disappointments include the Georgia Bulldogs, Wisconsin Badgers, and Troy.  I figured Troy could take care of Nebraska, considering they have never made it passed the first round. Of course, though, not only did they win their first March Madness game, they blew out Troy 76-47. 

My luck strikes again.

Nevertheless, my Florida Gators play today and they better be ready!  I picked Tennessee over Wright State as well as Texas Tech over Akron.

The rest of the first round closes out today, so have that boss button handy!

Boston Shoots Down Winnipeg

The Boston Bruins season swept the Winnipeg Jets last night in a dominating performance.  Hellebuyck was a brick wall against Canada during the Olympics, but last night against the Bruins, not so much.

David Pastrnak continues to be the super star of the Boston Bruins as he continues his point streak and extends it to eight games.

Boston needed this win as they had back-to-back losses in OT against Montreal and New Jersey.  They were in the midst of a three-game losing streak as well, but the win against Winnipeg definitely put the Bruins back on track.

Next up for the Bs is the Red Wings at Detroit.  A Saturday night matchup on ABC, so it should be a good one!
