What a game!
It seemed like a heavy weight battle as it was chippy from the start and the referees were out there breaking up fights every five minutes, it seemed. The Bruins, however, didn’t let that get in the way as they stayed focused on winning this game and getting back home for game 3 with momentum.
That’s exactly what happened as Viktor Arvidsson drew first blood early in the second period, scored 2 in total. Morgan Geekie scored as well with a gift from the hockey gods. He got a lucky back-hand shot, which bounched over the Buffalo goalie’s glove and straight into the net. Just like that, Bruins lead 2-0.
Pavel Zacha got into the mix as well with a goal, but the MVP of this game had to be Jeremy Swayman with 32 total blocked shots.
David Pasrnak garnered two assists. David is tied with Bobby Orr at eighth place for total career playoff points at 92.
Late in the fourth, however, Buffalo made a valiant effort to comeback with two quick scores making it 4-2.
I was starting to get nervous as flashbacks from Game 1 emerged, but Jeremy Swayman urged Head Coach Marco Sturm to call a timeout, which calmed things down for Boston.
A great decision because Coach Sturm didn’t do that in Game 1 and the Bruins lost.
In the end, the Bruins left Buffalo victorious and will be heading back home to Boston for games 3 and 4 at TD Garden.
Next up for the Bs is Game 3 on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 7pm on TNT.
What an answer from Boston in Game 2 against Buffalo. Tempers were flaring for sure, but the Bruins got the win and head back home for Games 3 & 4 starting Thursday.
