The Red Sox have been on a topsy-turvy streak since their nine-game winning run earlier this month, but Monday night’s dominant victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks could be the turning point Boston needs.
The Red Sox enjoyed a magical night at Fenway Park, routing the Diamondbacks in a 11-1 offensive showcase.
The historic performance featured all nine Boston starters recording at least one RBI, two home runs, and the Red Sox scoring in six consecutive innings.
Wilson Contreras got the scoring started with a fifth-inning home run, and Mickey Gasper joined the power surge with a homer of his own in the seventh.
Arizona finally got on the scoreboard when Geraldo Perdomo drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, but it was far too little, too late. The Red Sox cruised to a convincing victory at Fenway Park, providing a much-needed spark after their recent up-and-down stretch.
