Since 2008, the NHL started a tradition where a hockey game would be played outside at the start of a new year. In 2023, the Winter Classic will be coming back to Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts as the Bruins will be the host team at the home of the Boston Red Sox.
This is the second time that Boston has hosted the Winter Classic at Fenway Park. The Boston Bruins played the Philadelphia Flyers back in 2010 and beat the Flyers in overtime by a score of 2-1. In 2016, the Bs played in Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, Massachusetts, but lost that game to the Montreal Canadiens. The Boston Bruins have played in five Winter Classics since the start of this classic event.
The opposing team, official date, and broadcast information will be released later in the year.
