Super Bowl Sunday, Boston Shuts Out the Senators, and I’m Shoveling More Snow

Super Sunday is finally here and even though I don’t have a dog in this fight, my sucky Carolina Panthers haven’t made the playoffs in years, I’m looking forward to one more football game before baseball season starts.  I’m torn on who to pull for as I would definitely like to see Mathew Stafford finally win a ring, especially after all of those years playing for Detroit.  On the other hand, it would be cool to see the kid, Joe Burrow, win one in his second year playing for the Bengals.  Having both a FBS and NFL Championship are really good achievements for such a young quarterback.

Either way, I just hope it’s a really good game, but I do think Cincinnati will end up winning this one.

My prediction is the Cincinnati Bengals over the LA Rams 27-24.

On to hockey as the Boston Bruins finally get a win against the Ottawa Senators after a few disappointing losses to Pittsburgh and Carolina. The Bruins shutout the Senators 2-0.

After the retirement announcement of Tuukka Rask, Swayman and Ullmark will be the goalies for the Boston Bruins going forward.  Swayman’s 30 blocked goals against the Senators on Saturday afternoon definitely helped the Bruins secure the win.  This is Swayman’s second shutout for the Bruins this season.

Trent Frederic and Curtis Lazar were the only two scores for Boston.

Next game will be against the New York Rangers at the Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, February 15th

Here we are halfway through February and we have our third bout with snow.  I could have sworn we are stationed in Minot, North Dakota again, but I digress.  I’m hoping March will bring some warm’ish weather as we start to thaw out.  March brings baseball season as well, which I am ready for!

Hope everyone has a great Super Bowl Sunday and stay safe (and warm)!
