For a second year in a row, there will be a Major League Baseball game played at the Field of Dreams field in Dyersville, Iowa. This year’s matchup will feature the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago Cubs. The Reds will play as the home team and will be batting last.
Both teams will be wearing vintage team jerseys. Cincinnati will don their 1919 uniforms, which were worn during their World Series win over the White Sox. The Chicago Cubs will wear their 1929 jerseys, which were worn during their National League Pennant Champion season.
Last year’s game was between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees. The White Sox ended up winning that game due to a walk off home run by Tim Anderson.
The Field of Dreams game is expected to air on FOX with Joe Davis and John Smoltz having the call. First pitch is expected on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 7:15pm EDT. More on the game can be found at MLB.com.
