Time to get fired up!
The 2022 college season opener started with a very positive note for my No. 12 Florida Gators against the Utah Utes. Although they need to strengthen up their defense as the Gators gave up 230 yards to Utah, their running back corps looked pretty good with 283 yards rushing and red hot QB Anthony Richardson scoring three touchdowns.
Tonight, the Gators will host the No. 20 Kentucky Wildcats, so I’m hoping this momentum will be carried through to this evening’s matchup.
The Wildcats will be without their tailback Chris Rodriguez due to issues off the field, so Kavosiey Smoke will be the starter against Florida. This should take some pressure off of Florida’s defense, but Utah’s QB Cameron Rising was still able to throw for 220 yards, so that is concern.
In the end, though, I think it will be another close game but the Florida Gators will come out on top and will be 2-0 going into week 3 against South Florida.
The game will be on ESPN in The Swamp at 7:00pm EDT.
