Fired Up Sunday: Eastern Washington Eagles Pay a Visit to the Swamp in Rare Sunday Match-up

Due to Hurricane Ian, Saturday’s game between the Florida Gators and the Eastern Washington Eagles was moved to Sunday at 12:00pm EDT.  The last time the Gators played on Sunday was back in 1977.  Florida played Texas A&M during the Sun Bowl to finish off the 1976 college football season.  Unfortunately, Florida lost that matchup against the Aggies 37-13 in El Paso, Texas.

Nevertheless, it’s time to get fired up!  QB Anthony Richardson played pretty good last week against the Tennessee Volunteers, but not enough to get the win.  He definitely seemed more confident behind center last week, but he still ended up throwing an interception.  Good news is he threw for 453 yards, two touchdowns, and ran for two more touchdowns.

The defense, however, still needs tweaking.  Against Tennessee, Florida’s defense gave up 576 yards and could not force a three and out.  The heavily favorited Gators can, hopefully, fine tune the defense to get ready for an SEC East match-up against the Missouri Tigers next week.

The Gators are 2-2 and ranked 5th in the SEC East division.

You can watch the game on the SECN+ or ESPN+ networks at 12:00pm EDT.
