I know Fan Duel had the Florida Gators with a 10.5-point favorite, but with Missouri almost taking out Georgia last week, I was a bit nervous about this game. It was Homecoming week so the pressure to get a win was definitely on.
The defense did play better, especially with Jaydon Hill’s two interceptions, one of which was a pick six in the first quarter. That said, the defense will need more tweaking as they face LSU next week. The Florida Gators gave up 150 yards rushing, 220 yards passing, and allowed Missouri’s QB Cook to have a 73% passer rating.
That said, Florida’s offense is starting to look pretty good. Anthony Richardson threw for only one interception this time, which is definitely better. Running Backs Johnson and Etienne were a formidable duo with both players getting over 80 yards rushing and Johnson getting a touchdown. WR Ricky Pearsall had a nice throw from Richardson to score a touchdown early in the fourth quarter as well.
In the end, it was a good win to celebrate during Homecoming week and it will definitely carry some momentum into the next match up against the other Tigers of LSU on October 15th.
