Hard to believe Gator Nation has only three more games left for the 2022 football season. This week, though, my Florida Gators play host to the South Carolina Gamecocks. Florida took it to the Texas A&M Aggies last Saturday beating them 41-24, so the Gators are facing the Gamecocks with some momentum. If Florida can get a victory against South Carolina, that’s one game closer to making it to the post season, which is fine by me!
South Carolina is coming to the Swamp with a 6-3 record, so Florida needs to respect that. That said, however, the Gators hold on to the title with a 29-10-3 record against South Carolina since playing the SEC East rivals back in 1911.
This game may be close as both quarterbacks are coming off good games. Florida’s QB Anthony Richardson threw for two touchdowns, rushed for two, and had 201 yards passing, including no interceptions.
The Gamecock’s QB Spencer Rattler had an impressive outing as well. Rattler had a 69% passer rating and threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns himself.
Florida really needs to win this one to make it easier to earn a bowl game. Additionally, it is Senior Day, so for some players this game will mean a bit more as this is their final season playing in a Florida Gator uniform. In celebration of Veteran’s Day, the Gators are paying respects to the men and women who have served this great nation in the United States Armed Services.
This game should be a win for my Gators with a final score of 27-21.
Let’s get fired up!
