Gators Win Over the Volunteers and the Bruins Chase History Against the Devils

Last night my Florida Gators took Tennessee to the woodshed in a 9-3 victory with one game away from a sweep of the Volunteers.  So far in the series, the Gators have outscored No. 11 Tennessee 15-4 and proving why Florida is ranked third in the nation.

In Southeastern Conference (SEC) play, Florida is 9-2 for season and has a road record of 8-0.

Needless to say, the Florida Gators are playing really good baseball and hopefully this momentum will carry through to the of April and into May as they get ready for the College World Series, which starts in June.

Florida plays the final game of the series tonight at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee.  First pitch is to be expected at 2pm on ESPN.

The Boston Bruins will play the New Jersey Devils tonight at TD Garden at home in Boston.  This is fitting because if they can win, the Boston Bruins will match the most wins in a season in NHL history.  Currently that record is tied between the 1995-96 Detroit Red Wings (62-13-7) and the 2018-19 Tampa Bay Lightning (62-16-4).

A lot of players and even coaches, they haven’t been in this spot. We’ve been clinched for so long, so sometimes it’s hard to find motivation for the games that sometimes we play outside of playoff teams.  We definitely know about (the record) because we’re looking for anything to kind of prepare us for playoffs.

Boston Bruins Forward David Pastrnak

Pastrnak scored the game winning goal in overtime against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, his 57th goal of the season.

The Boston Bruins have clinched the Presidents’ Trophy as well as a playoff spot, so now they are concentrating on making history.  Even with a loss against New Jersey, the Bruins still have three games remaining to tie or even become the team with the most wins in a season in NHL history.

Puck drop is at 8pm EDT on ESPN/ABC.
