Fired Up Fridays:  Bruins Win Home Opener, Gators versus Vols Matchup, and I’m Addicted to Diablo IV

Boston Bruins Win Home Opener

The Boston Bruins opened up their 2024-2025 hockey season last night at home in the TD Garden and they were fired up!

Jeremy Swayman, finally back after signing an eight-year $66 million contract, made his first start and the Bruins were back in business as they played host to the Montreal Canadiens.

The sting of their first loss must have been lingering as they jumped all over the Canadiens from the start.  Attacking the puck, speed, and aggressive hockey was the modus operandi for Boston last night.

They looked good and it showed.  The Bruins just seemed more at ease with Swayman guarding the net as opposed to the new guy, Joonas Korpisalo.

Swayman blocked 21 shots during his debut after signing that big contract and the offense helped with six total goals.

Kastelic had the lion’s share with two goals.  Pastrnak, McAvoy, Lindholm, and Koepke all scored as well.

With the first win under their belt, the momentum will hopefully carry over on Saturday when Boston hosts the Los Angeles Kings.

Florida Gators vs Tennessee Volunteers

I really hope Florida wins this game.  I know they probably won’t, but I’m hopeful.

With Tennessee coming off a huge loss from unranked Arkansas, they will be coming after Florida with a vengeance.

And to make matters worse, we are playing in Neyland Stadium at Knoxville, Tennessee.  We are going to need another Feleipe Franks hail marry to win this thing.

Florida is coming off back-to-back wins, so it is possible.  Even Tennessee’s Coach Heupel said the Gators are “playing their best ball right now.”

The scene from Dumb and Dumber comes to mind when thinking about this game, “So you’re telling me there’s a chance.”

Knowing the inevitable will probably happen, I’m sticking with my Gators and predict a Florida victory 24-21.  We’ll see …

Diablo IV Has Me Addicted

With Call of Duty running stale and I ended up finishing College Football 25 Dynasty Season I (I need to start Season II), I was looking for an alternate “go to” game to play.

After my brother encourage me to try Diablo IV, he is a huge World of Warcraft fan, I decided to give it a go and ever since I downloaded it, I can’t stop playing.

I’ve beat both campaigns (regular and expansion) and I’ve been grinding side quests as well as other challenges.

In fact, I haven’t been this addicted to a game since Bloodborne on the Playstation 4, which is another amazing game.

If you are into action role playing games (RPGs), then give this title a run.  You won’t be disappointed.

Weekend is Almost here!  Time to get fired up!!
