Fired Up Fridays:  CFP Championship Prep, Bruins Face Ottawa on Saturday, and Baseball Season is Near

College Football Playoff Championship Prep

Sadly, the end of the 2024 college football season is on Monday with the College Football Playoff Championship between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Notre Dame Irish.  Even though I’m an SEC guy, I can’t help but feel this is a good matchup and a great way to end the college football season.

We will be celebrating by wearing our school jerseys, stuffing our faces with hot wings, and copious amounts of Sam Adams Winter Lager (if I can still find some) and Cherry Ginger Ale.

Even though I have no dog in this fight, I would like to see the Notre Dame Irish win this one as they have had a phenomenal year.

My prediction:  27-24 Irish

Boston Faces the Ottawa Senators in a Saturday Afternoon Clash

The Ottawa Senators will host the Boston Bruins on Saturday at the Canadian Tire Centre for an afternoon hockey game.

Boston is on a two-win gaming streak, so the Bruins hope to keep the momentum going.  The Ottawa Senators will look to rebound from their loss to the Capitals yesterday, which broke their three-game winning streak.

Saturday’s game will be the second time these two teams have played each other for this season with the Senators winning the last game in an overtime thriller 3-2.

No injuries are reported for the game.

Baseball Season is Close

With one more college football game left, the focus is now shifting to baseball season, specifically Florida Gator and Boston Red Sox baseball.

In fact, the first Gator baseball game is on Valentine’s Day, February 14 against Air Force.  Spring training starts on February 20, with the Red Sox playing on February 21.

Definitely looking forward to this year as the Florida Gators open at No. 10 in the D1Baseball preseason top 25.  Should be a great year for the Gators and hopefully they get to make it back to Omaha this year.

It’s Friday! Time to get Fired UP!!
