Def Leppard’s Pyromania Released 42 Years Ago Today

The 1980s had some of the most legendary music of all time. Ballads from Metallica, Megadeth, and Iron Maiden were my albums of choice. However, there is another band that I always enjoyed listening to, especially on Friday nights at the skating rink, and that is Def Leppard.

On January 20, 1983, Def Leppard released Pyromania and featured classic songs such as Rock! Rock! (Til You Drop), Too Late for Love, and my favorite track, Foolin’. It’s crazy (actually insane) to think that this album came out 42 years ago today. These songs were the soundtrack to so many childhood memories growing up in South Carolina during the best decade of all time, the 1980s.

Pyromania was Def Leppard’s third album and has sold over 10 million copies, which makes the album certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
