Bruins Take Another Beating in the Garden
At this rate, the Boston Bruins aren’t making the playoffs and if they happen to miraculously get in, they are one and done. There is no sense of urgency, no team cohesion, injuries, and to put it bluntly, they appear as if they just want the season to be over.
I hope I’m wrong, but perception is reality and that is how the Boston Bruins are playing.
So far, they have lost two in a row. They lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs a few days ago and now the New York Islanders last night. And to make matters worse, their young starter with great potential was injured in a unintentional (I hope) injury as he was shoved into the gate, which was opened. Poitras rammed into the corner of the barrier in what appears to be an upper body injury. He did not return.
This comes after Boston has lost Trent Frederic and Charlie McAvoy to injuries as well.
As a supporter and spouse to a Massachusetts native, it’s been a brutal season for Boston Bruin fans.
On a good note, though, David Pastrnak secured his place in the hockey history books as he scored his 800th point, 31st goal of the season. Unfortunately for Boston, that was the only highlight of the game.
Up next is the Pittsburgh Penguins, so hopefully they can snap this two-game losing skid and eek out a victory. Thoughts and prayers.

The Florida Gators Baseball Team is 9-0
No. 8 Florida continues to roll on as they defeated the UNF Ospreys and continue their 9-0 winning streak.
They almost suffered their first loss of the season, but with the help of Osprey’s pitcher on a wild throw, Florida’s Lawson ran in for the go ahead run and another Florida Gator victory.
UF’s win is the longest streak since March of 2023 and the best team since the 2020 season where they went 16-0. Quite impressive.
Next for the Gators will be a three-game series with the Miami Hurricanes starting tonight at 6:30pm EST.
