Fired Up Saturday: Bull Fighting in the Swamp as the Gators Play South Florida

My Florida Gators really need a win tonight, bigly!  After riding high on a monstrous win against Utah only to have reality hit them in the face against Kentucky, the Gators are in a must win situation against South Florida if they plan to make any moves for the post season.

USF is not even ranked, but in this day and age of college football, see Appalachian State vs No. 9 Texas A&M for reference, not being in the top 25 doesn’t matter.  The Bulls will be going for the upset, but hopefully Anthony Richardson has put those two interceptions behind him and get back to season form, visive the athlete we saw against the Utes.

South Florida is 1-1 and will be playing on the road, which is an advantage for Florida.

I’m hopeful that Trevor Etienne will get started early and I want to see Anthony Richardson sling the ball around to settle in.  If the defense can hold up against the Bull’s RB Brian Battie, who ran for 105 yards and 1 TD against Howard, Florida can take control of the game early.  South Florida is having issues stopping opponents on third downs, so hopefully the Gators will take advantage of this.

Florida should get the win here, but I thought they could man handle the Wildcats and was sorely disappointed.

The Florida Gators will play the USF Bulls at The Swamp at 7:30pm EDT on the SECN network.
