David Pastrnak scored the game winning goal late in the first overtime against the Buffalo Sabres to force a Game 6 in Boston on Friday.
It was a low scoring affair during the whole game for the most part, but Buffalo scored during a power play in the first period.
Boston’s Lindholm got into the action with a goal halfway through the second period tying the game up at one goal apiece.
In the third period, however, it seemed the goalies got most of the action.
Boston goalie Jeremy Swayman was phenomenal as he blocked 20 shots, which gave the Bruins much needed life in this game, especially after laying an egg in Game 4.
In the end, though, it was David Pastrnak who stole the show.
Around the 9-minute mark into the first OT, Lindholm passed the puck to Pastrnak, who then gained some speed and with some fancy stick work, took his shot right into the net for the game winning goal.
The Bs head back to Boston and prepare for a crucial do or die matchup against Buffalo in Game 6.
Game 6 will be on ESPN on Friday, May 1at 7:30pm EDT. Buffalo leads the series 3-2
