Fired Up Thursday: Gators vs Knights in Gasparilla Bowl

One last time to get fired up as the Florida Gators play their rivals the Golden Knights of Central Florida in the Gasparilla Bowl on Thursday night in Tampa Bay.  The Gators barely qualified for a bowl game, but with a win over the Florida State Seminoles, Florida clinched a bowl berth.

With a very disappointing season, Florida eventually fired Dan Mullen and hired Billy Napier from Louisiana.  Coach Napier won’t be calling the shots on Thursday as the previous coaching staff will be handling the offense and defense one last time.

I was really hoping to see some AR-15 (Anthony Richardson) action, but with the quarterback undergoing knee surgery, that will not happen.

Even though he has entered the transfer portal and will be leaving Florida, Emory Jones is expected to get the start one last time.

The defense takes a hit as well as Defensive end Zachary Carter is not playing in the bowl game due to his declaration for the NFL draft.

Florida should win should win this one against the UCF.  The Gators are 2-0 against the Knights.

The sold-out game is expected to be broadcasted on ESPN at 7:00PM (EST).
